Daniel Ashcroft (AKA - Crackpot Theory) - has been releasing solo albums since 2008, This is my first attempt at stretching my musical capabilities and stepping outside of my comfortzone as a song writer/producer, instead of writting heavy metal music i decided that i wanted to explore other musical avenues and learn about writting/producing other forms of music, using completely different instruments that i would normally play or write/compose music with. My new double album 'Self-titled' is made up of 6 EP's, each one a different style of music - Musical Opera, Industrial metal, Lo-fi alt-rock, Thrash metal, Comedy/funk and Acoustic. Each EP i used a different vocalist suited for the style. I have been working on this project for the last two years, writing and playing/recording all the instrumentation myself, playing around about 10 different instruments.
This album is a free download on bandcamp and i will have physical copies made up within the next couple weeks. I hope this will spread the word of me as an artist to many demographics and hope that it will encourage many different singers from different backgrounds to collaborate with me, as i will continue down this path of exploring and writing music of any genre that sparks my interest.
